The story starts as it tells about this boy Chance. He is from a dysfunctional family, his dad drinks, his mom left. After a couple of chapters we find out that he lives on a boat. He isn't very popular in school and he likes to run. It's a very enthralling story so far.

  2. When chapter 4 starts we find Chance at school which is not a place he wants to be. His job is washing dishes at the local restaurant. He is approached by the marina manager and is offered a job of delivering packages. They are hidden in the rocks or tree by the beach, they are in brown paper which makes it seem like something illegal is going on. Chance is paid a hundred dollars for every package he picks up and delivers to the shower room after he runs every day.

  3. The book has one sub-plot and that's with the school paper. The battle of Iraq has been raging for over 10 years now and the paper doesn't have many readers. there have been reports of terrorists coming into Seattle and they are going to blow up the harbor so the lakes and rivers flow right into the ocean. It makes it to where the supplies can't be brought in by boat.

  4. I had recently finished the book and it was an exciting read. There are plenty of action packed moments throughout but it definately gets the blood pumping throught those last few chapters, some one dies, there are explosives involved and just illegal things galore. When I got to act two it got a bit boring but, you gotta keep reading. This book is definately in my top 25, I hope to read another Carl Deuker book.
    Jonathon Crosby signing out.
